Yes, we all witnessed Bernie finally endorsing Hillary Clinton, three days ago, but the fight is not over millennials. Basic understanding of the law of conservation reminds us that energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another. Hence, Jill Stein, the presumptive nominee for the Green Party.
According to the USUNCUT website, “Since Tuesday morning, the Green Party has received over $80,000 in contributions, over half of which comes from first-time donors, and half of which comes in the form of contributions under $50. Tellingly, about 615 of those contributions totalled $27, the exact number commonly trumpeted and solicited by the Sanders campaign during his revolutionary grassroots funding movement.”
The surge in donations and attention for Jill Stein is no mistake. From almost everyone who supported Bernie to celebrities, and to people, like, activist Dr. Cornel West, who said, “I have a deep love for my brother Bernie Sanders, but I disagree with him on Hillary Clinton. I don’t think she would be an ‘outstanding president.’ Her militarism makes the world a less safe place,” are tired of having to choose between the lesser of two evils.
Moreover, our millennial generation are even more tired of choosing between the lesser of two evils than Dr. Cornel West, because we realize and have come to accept that we must be the change that we which to see in the world. From our social activism, empathy for mother nature, open-mindedness, and live and let live personalities, there’s no doubt in my mind that we will soon achieve our goals of a more inclusive, socially accepting, and peaceful world.
Under those circumstances, then, we need to let Jill Stein be our rebound because, surprisingly, she’s actually way more radical than Bernie Sanders. For example, shes’s a proponent of reparations for descendants of slaves, she wants to demilitarize the police, establish a police review board to investigate cases of death in police custody, make colleges tuition free, and also make it so that we can avert climate catastrophes.
In addition to being way more radical than Bernie Sanders, her Green party platform has, since day one, emulated what Bernie so desperately desired for the democratic party. Which is, avoiding being “poisoned by corporate money, lobbyists, and Super PACs,” Stein said.
“There are 43 million young people and not-so-young people who are locked into predatory student loan debt,” Stein continued. “The birth rate is plummeting in this country because we have a generation that’s basically become indentured servants. They don’t have a place to live, they don’t have relationships, they don’t have a future, they don’t have families, they don’t have a job. We really have a generational crisis right now that we’re in the midst of. And there’s one way that crisis can be solved with the stroke of a pen. That debt can be cancelled, and I’m the only candidate who will do that. Those 43 million votes have only one place to go.”
Millennials, I have taken the liberty to provide that “one place to go” just for you. Here is Jill Stein’s website; Jill Stein For President. Show her that you are tired of having to choose between the lesser of two evils by joining thousands of our peers who have donated to her campaign, already.
